General

The new range of Adam monitors are another cream-of-the-crop batch, and relatively affordable, too. While a high-end studio monitor is never going to come cheap, forking out for the right model can definitely be worth it depending on your demands and ambitions. Packing premium quality, this top-of-the-line Adam A-Series model claims a spot in between the T-Series and S-Series studio monitors. The Adam A8H is available in a left and a right model; this is the left model.

Features of the Adam A8H

The A8H has a three-way design consisting of an 8" woofer, a 3.5" mid-woofer and, of course, Adam's famed ribbon tweeter. The massive audio image shaped by this configuration allows you to carefully assess the fattest, densest and biggest mixes for film scores and smashing pop productions. Even an advanced, network-compatible DSP comes built in to help you perfect the sound, finishing one of the most professional bits of studio kit going. If you've got serious audio-focussed ambitions, this thing deserves a spot on your short-list.

Sonarworks

Not even the most expensive studio monitor can deliver truly honest audio if the acoustics of the room aren't up to snuff. Luckily, the Adam A8H features a built in Sonarworks filter which can be combined with the highly praised Sonarworks software and a measurement microphone (not included) to analyse the listening space and draw up a custom graphic EQ based on the measurements to compensate for any suboptimal acoustics. That EQ comes in the form of a DAW effect, or in this case a custom Sonarworks profile that can be uploaded to the monitor to prepare it for flawless performance anywhere - another argument to invest in the Adam A-Series.

Brutaal eerlijk,

Houd je van dikke vette bassen die indruk maken op je klanten, dan moet je een sub-woofer kopen.
Wil je een eerlijk analytisch geluid hebben dat tot een verbluffende 31Hz laag gaat zonder sub, dan zit je met deze speakers gebeiteld. Deze speakers zijn niet om indruk te maken, ze zijn echt heel erg vlak, precies wat je wil voor serieuze mixen en masters.

Alle kleine details komen in een perfect stereobeeld uiterst gedetailleerd tevoorschijn (waar zelfs mijn AKG K271 MkII hoofdtelefoon niet tegen op kan). Diepe lage maar uiterst gebalanceerde klanken, een strak midden en super gecontroleerde sprankelende hoge klanken. Deze speakers zijn brutaal eerlijk en laten al je tekortkomingen in een mix glashard horen zonder medelijden voor je ego!

Houd er wel rekening mee dat deze speakers voor grotere ruimtes bedoeld zijn (Ongeveer 5x5x3 m)
Is je ruimte kleiner, dan kun je waarschijnlijk beter voor een iets kleinere speaker gaan (Bijvoorbeeld de Adam A7V).

Plus punten

• Gaat bijzonder laag zonder sub-woofer, tot wel 31 hz -6 dB (dit is uitstekend waarneembaar)
• Super analytisch in de midden tonen waardoor je alle details kunt horen
• DSP in de speaker met eq instellingen die via de pc aan te sturen zijn.
• Ingebouwde ruimtecorrectie van Sonar Works (Demo licentie inbegrepen)

Après 9 ans à travailler avec des adam a7x, j’ai craqué pour cette paire. La différence est phénoménal, l’impression que mes a7x sortent un son tout étriqué et très medium. J’avais aussi testé les s3v, avec ces a8h je retrouve les sensations de la s3v. Des bas plus généreux mais bien dosé, un médium très maitrisé et un aigu détaillé façon adam audio, une stéréo très profonde et une possibilité de réglage pour s’adapter à nos pièces. Rien a dire, mes mixs sonnent mieux et j’ai l’impression de passer moins de temps dessus
