Dreadbox Typhon Analogue Synthesizer

General

The Dreadbox Typhon is an awesomely serious chunk of analogue synth-based fun. Home to massive sounds and unique features, this compact box of tricks includes digital effects from Sinevibes and a user preset memory bank. Setting up has also been made as easy as pie: you're offered the choice of two oscillators, for which various waveforms can be selected, and while you can't pick one per oscillator, this in no way limits the creative potency presented by this little animal. For instance, the built-in filter is a four-point low-pass with control over the resonance and a standard VCA.

Modulate Your Little Socks Off!

With the Typhon, you can modulate way off into the distant void, since it comes with buckets upon buckets of modulation options. You're getting separate envelope generators for the filter, including LFO, and you can take an envelope then stick it through sequencer mode and set it to step or random. The resulting sound can be shaped further using the generous pack of built-in DSP effects developed by Sinevibes. Three effect processors are provided: one with distortion and decimator, one with delay and reverb, and since there's room, one with MOD FX including chorus and a flanger.

As Portable as it Gets

Might it may not seem that important, Dreadbox make it important! The Typhon synthesizer is insanely portable. It can be used as a fully standalone unit, without the need for any power socket. It can even be powered by a power bank while you bask comfortably in the sun, playing with waveforms poolside. No one else will be bothered by you, thanks to the included headphone socket, and since 256 presets come preloaded, there's plenty to enjoy.
