General

You can never have enough synth modules, and Novation couldn't agree more. The 8-voice polyphonic Novation Peak desktop synth module supplies three New Oxford oscillators per voice; each numerically controlled and able to conjure warm and rich analogue sound; each fully backed up by the versatility of digital tech; and each equipped with a resonant multi-mode analogue filter. Distortion can be added to the oscillators at three different points in the analogue signal, coating it in some dirty and biting overdrive. Add all of that up with the polyphonic aftertouch, the linear FM synthesis, the reverb, delay and chorus effects, and the arpeggiator, and you're looking at supreme synth power.

The Novation Peak: The Highlights

Loaded with a mass of buttons, knobs, and faders, this satisfying chunk of hardware offers endless tweaking potential, so sound-designers can carve out custom sound again and again. Sixteen modulation slots, just as many assignable functions, three ADSR envelope filters, two LFOs per voice, and animate buttons are supplied, and once you've hit another sweet spot, your settings can be saved and called up later. The look of this unit is just as slick: from the classic black control panel to the vintage-style wooden side panels. There's even an exclusive aluminium stand available (not included) to complete the look of your Novation Peak. Stylish, flexible, and seamlessly integrated into your setup via the CV mod port, this synth has been designed to serve for decades.

Wavetable Editor

The Peak also includes Novation's glittering new Wavetable Editor, offering deep control over the wavetable oscillators. The editor operates via Novation Components and features drawing tools and a Live Edit mode so oscillator shapes can be literally drawn in by hand and calculated in real-time. Via the audio import function, imported audio can be used as an oscillator waveform to unique and inspiring effect.

In Collaboration with Noisia

The Wavetable Editor also comes with stack of breathtaking sounds that come straight from the NASA library, including waveforms and recordings taken during expeditions in space. Content has also been provided by the production masters, Noisia, offering users a comprehensive preset pack to help guide wavetable exploration. Gain free access to the Wavetable Editor via the Novation Components platform whenever the Peak or Summit is hooked up to your computer or laptop via USB.

Firmware v2.0

Stereo:
- Just like with American classics, the oscillators and/or voices can be divided over the Left and Right output, and the stereo image can be altered via a mod-matrix. This takes the already rich and full foundation sound and transforms it into finely structured soundscapes.
Modulation & Probability
- Create deeper and more experimental sound using the new mod-destinations, noise as mod-source, and extra LFO 3 and LFO 4 parameters. Animate Envelopes and Arpeggiator Chance open up more creative options.
Effects:
- New Chorus, Flanger and Phaser effects have been added to the effects library. The extra modulation options make it possible to built more complex effect chains. The new Lo-Fi delay mode does exactly what you expect and will definitely appeal to any Summit or Peak user.
