The entire instrument is finished with a special nitrocellulose lacquer. Originally, this guitar was introduced in 1968 as a custom Dreadnought, but it became so popular that it was taken into regular production in 1974. Billie Joe Armstrong (Green Day) and Waylon Jennings are both loyal fans of this classic Dreadnought. The D-55E a true American electro-acoustic guitar that comes with a deluxe custom case.
