The Neumann TLM 170R MT microphone is the undisputed sound engineer's sonic life-saver. This multi-tool of a large-diaphragm condenser mic boasts unrivalled transparency and a frequency response that's near-enough linear using any of the five possible pickup patterns, making this incredibly flexible microphone just as proficient at close miking as it is when ambient miking. The transformer-free design also endows the TLM 170R with an enormous dynamic range of 130dB, resulting in nothing but beautifully clean recordings, whether registering a whisper or an explosion.
