General
In the sound of the Soyuz 1973 you're hearing more than half a century of the FET-based large-diaphragm condenser microphones that came out of Germany, Austria and Russia. This compact mic packs the massive character of a Soyuz 023 Bomblet capsule, so you get immediately transparent trebles and detailed mids and basses, and unlike the original 023 Bomblet, the output stage of 1973 condenser is transformer-free, giving this microphone a slightly faster response and bigger dynamic range. Via the PAD switch fitted on the front of the body, the output of the capsule can be weakened as needed to counter overdrive.
