The Keith McMillen BopPad USB pad controller is a product that many a drummer can put to good use in his kit. And not just drummers, keyboardists who want to get their hands waving can also have a lot of fun with this. At its core, this product has four sensitive pads that send out MIDI data via the USB connection. And sensitive here means that tapping with your fingers works very well. And that's nice, since some percussion instruments also sound really interesting in real life when played softly.

Of course the pads are touch-sensitive, just as aftertouch is supported. It even matters where you strike, the distance to the centre is also MIDI data that is transmitted - just as with cymbals and kettle drums, the distance to the centre has a lot of influence. The BopPad processes zefls the distance between where you initially strike and where you press to. What you do with all this MIDI data is up to you. A slightly experienced sound designer can build very musical and expressive sounds with all this MIDI data!
