NAMM 2016: RCF and dB Technologies Present Spin-Off Mixars
The last couple weeks, we've only seen online teasers of the new brand, Mixars. Apparently, the brain behind this company is in Italy at dB Technologies! Yes, that's right. dB Technologies is known for a countless number of smooth-sounding active loud speakers. It's therefore pretty remarkable that this brand is announcing their debut in a time where the DJ market seems pretty over-saturated as it is. It's been years since a serious DJ brand appeared out of nowhere, and the Italians sure seems determined to succeed with their entry-level product range and is ready to take on some heavy competition.
NAMM 2016: Pioneer Booth Shows TOUR-1 CDJs and More
At the Pioneer booth, we found some remarkable devices by Pioneer DJ. However, Pioneer DJ themselves did not want to comment yet... To be continued!
NAMM 2016: Sound and Style: AKG sets the bar high
Comfort, style and crystal-clear sound; AKG has managed to seamlessly combine all of these elements in their new (adjustable!) headphone models that were presented for the first time today. To be honest, these models are nothing less than we expected from a brand that has been providing musicians and sound techs with the very to get the most out of their tracks for the last 65 years.
NAMM 2016: Yamaha MIDI via Bluetooth LE
It sounds a little strange, don't you think? A Bluetooth product that works with a cable! Yet that's exactly what Yamaha has given us with these wireless MIDI products that work via Bluetooth. The UD-BT01 and the MD-BT01 are anything but strange, however.
NAMM 2016: Denon DJ Releases the VL12 Turntable with RGB LED Lighting
At this year's NAMM show, Denon has already introduced a number of competitive new products, so the fact that they've now also announced their very own turntable shouldn't come as too big a surprise. With the VL12, Denon DJ has developed their own unique model. Its most remarkable feature is a built-in LED ring around the platter that can easily be adjusted to suit your preferences.
NAMM 2016: Denon DJ Shows Off SM50 DJ Monitors
Denon DJ is branching out, and besides DJ controllers, a turntable and headphones, they're now making speakers too! Hence the versatile SM50 monitors. They were primarily designed as DJ monitors, but they're also great for recreational use.
NAMM 2016: Orange Celebrates with Anniversary Amps!
Okay, okay, it's not exactly Orange's anniversary. It's actually the ten-year anniversary of one of their products, the Tiny Terror. Just for the occasion, they've developed a very special Limited Edition Half Stack, consisting of a manually-wired chrome 15-watt Shiny Terror tube head and a 2x 10" cabinet with an open fretwork back in Racing Green. Time to celebrate!
NAMM 2016: Yamaha DGX-660 Digital Piano
Thanks to their wooden housing, digital pianos usually blend in nicely with the rest of your furniture. Keyboards, on the other hand, tend to stick out a bit more. With their DGX series, Yamaha provides the perfect middle ground. These instruments have the same options as a keyboard, but their housing (with stand) ensures they don't stand out too much in your living room. The newest additions to the DGX family are the DGX-660 and the DGX-660WH.
NAMM 2016: Gemini Presents SDJ-2000. Wait, SDJ-2000?
The SDJ-2000 took us a bit by surprise. Nobody expected Gemini to release a beast like this. It has plenty of options, features and even free Library Management software. This might just make some of the big fish in the DJ pond slightly nervous.
NAMM 2016: Orange - Mad About the O
When Orange created their first bass guitar, people probably gasped and said "Oh" in utter amazement, which could very well be why they named it the O Bass. This vintage-style model is available in three colours and features modern pickups known as split humbuckers. We can see the British brand is being held in high respect judging by their stylish O Edition headphones.
