In the production of films and documentaries, the process of recording the sound track is usually hugely underestimated. The Sennheiser MKE 600 condenser shotgun microphone is designed to brave the most demanding filming situations. It has a high directional sensitivity, which makes it pick up sound from the direction in which the microphone is pointing and effectively attenuate sounds from the side and back. Therefore sound sources that are further away will also be picked up as if the sound source is nearby the microphone.

High Sound Quality

The main strength of this MKE 600 is its excellent reproduction of lower frequencies, which makes the recording of voices easy and also enhances intelligibility. This is mainly achieved by the high directional sensitivity and switchable low-cut filter which minimises wind noise and other ambient noises. Furthermore, this condenser operates on a 48V phantom power supply, but as not all cameras can supply this power supply, it also operates on a 1.5V AA battery. This microphone is equipped with a 'low-batt'-indicator, in order to allow you to check the remaining battery life. This prevents awkward moments from occurring and leaking batteries from going unnoticed. The availability of various accessories (like a windscreen of fake fur and a stand adapter to mount the microphone on any microphone stand) adds to the versatility of this camera microphone. With the accessory shockmount you can mount the MKE 600 on your camera's hot shoe and the accessory foam windshield is excellent for indoor recordings.
