General

The ZED series by Allen & Heath is a range of compact mixing consoles that are designed to help musicians by way of a simple introduction to audio recording. This particular mixer, the ZEDi-10FX, is the most comprehensive model of their range as it contains a large selection of effects that vary from a simple reverb to an extreme delay, chorus, and flanger. Using the tap-tempo button, you can perform real-time adjustments to these effects, and with the two volume knobs, you can apply them per channel, or to either the total mix or the AUX. Thanks to the USB interface, you can record channels 1 through 4 and edit them live (using the included Cubase LE software).

The ZEDi-10FX: Jack-In the Box

Despite its modest size, the ZEDi-10FX is extremely versatile. It features four mono and two stereo channels, RCA input, AUX, FX outputs, and a headphones input. As mentioned previously, this mixer also functions as a USB interface, making it possible to record the total mix, AUX and effects as well as the first four mono channels. This mixer has a built-in preamp that's based on the legendary GS-R24 studio console, which means you can connect studio mics and guitars directly. A 3-band equalizer allows you the freedom to make your instruments sound exactly the way you want them to.

To connect the mixer to an iOS device, a Camera Connection Kit (30-pin devices) or a Lightning USB adapter can be used and is sold separately.
The Allen & Heath ZEDi-10FX comes including a Cubase LE license.

Wrote the following about Allen & Heath ZEDi-10FX Analogue Mixer with Effects

Gekocht omdat ik mijn geluidskaart en oude mixer wilde vervangen. Aangezien deze zedi 10fx via usb aan de computer kan worden gehangen en ik er goede reviews over heb gelezen uiteindelijk dus aangeschaft en de eerste indrukken na een ~week zijn goed. Bouw kwaliteit van de unit en knoppen is degelijk, voelt stevig aan en de bediening spreekt voor zich. Na wat drivers van het internet geplukt te hebben, vind ik in mijn daw de asio drivers en kunnen de diverse inputs + overall mix worden opgenomen naar gelang de settings op de mixer. Kind kan de was doen. Vergeleken met mijn oude focusrite geluidskaart die deze mixer vervangt, lijkt het cpu gebruik bij de latency die ik gewend ben wel omhoog te zijn gegaan. Tracks die ik voorheen zonder kraakjes in de audio kon afspelen, moet ik nu de buffer size wat omhoog gooien, maar dit moet ik meer testen. Over het algemeen wegen de voordelen van de meerdere inputs van de mixer die je rechtstreeks kan opnemen, op tegen de nadelen van de minder efficiënte drivers. Geluidskwaliteit is ook goed.

Onlangs heb ik de Allen&Heath ZEDi-10FX besteld. De volgende dag is het bezorgd. De eerste indruk is goed. De bediening is simpel en al vrij snel kon ik alle apparatuur aansluiten. Het geluid is goed. Ik gebruik het thuis. Kortom de A&H bevalt goed, voor de prijs hoef je het ook niet te laten. Ik ben erg tevreden.

We hebben de Allen&Heath ZEDi-10FX besteld en de dag erna ontvangen. Super!
Mijn dochter en ik zijn hier direct mee aan de slag gegaan en na wat zoek werk (dit is ons eerste mengpaneel) hier prima geluid uit gekregen. Nu maar de zelfgeschreven nummers van mijn dochter opnemen en bewerken in de bijgevoegde Light Edition van Cubase.

Gisteren het mengpaneel besteld en vandaag keurig op tijd bezorgt. Uiteraard direct aangesloten en uitgeprobeerd. Wat een fijn apparaat, zeg. Ik had eerst een groter ZED versie. Maar, deze klinkt prima. Voor ons bandje ( 2personen) bijzonder goede aanwinst.

Kortom, A&H hebben weer een top product erbij.

Allen & Heath Announce the Newest Addition to the ZED Family

Mixing console manufacturers Allen & Heath recently unveiled their compact ZED series of mini mixers, and now, we are pleased to hear they have expanded it to include with two new models, the ZEDi-10 and the slightly larger ZEDi-10FX. Both consoles are equipped with four mono and two stereo channels, and can also be used as an audio interface thanks to a USB input. It won't be long before you can try them out!
