First and foremost, this 80-watt 1x12 guitar amplifier offers you two channels. This allows you to adjust a wide range of tones, from clean to heavily overdriven, in an instant using the knobs on the front panel. Fancy a bit more clarity? Then press the tone button. For more crunch, on the other hand, you can switch on the boost. However, when you start playing around with the power select amp button, you’ll quickly get a good idea of the potential of this Boss guitar combo. The 6V6 and 6L6 settings give you those classic American tones, whilst for vintage British sounds you’ll naturally switch to the EL34 and EL88 positions.

At any volume, you’ll get a highly faithful emulation of these well-known valve power stages thanks to Tube Logic Tone technology. Do you feel that 80 watts is a bit too much and would you like to adjust the volume a little more precisely? Simply set the power control to half the power. When playing at home, even 40 watts can still be quite loud. That’s why there’s also the option to switch the power down to 0.5 watts. What if you want to keep playing well into the night? In that case, you can also plug in your headphones. To add even more atmosphere to your guitar sound, the Boss Nextone Artist features built-in delay, reverb and tremolo effects.

Control over speaker simulations, microphone emulations and the built-in effects

Want even more options for effects and the ability to fine-tune the parameters? Connect this Nextone Artist amp combo to your computer via USB and control it using the Nextone Editor. Do you have a few external effects pedals or a multi-effects processor that you’d like to use alongside the built-in effects? Connect them via the mono effects loop. Have you fine-tuned everything to perfection and want to have full control over this Boss guitar amplifier in the rehearsal room or on stage? Then connect an external footswitch or expression pedal to the stereo jack foot controller connector and a GA-TC footswitch to the mono jack output to the right of it. These pedals are available separately, by the way. Would you also like to record easily without a microphone? Simply connect the line out to your audio interface, for example, and set the desired speaker and microphone emulations using the 3 Air Feel functions.
