Solid State Logic SSL 1 audio interface

SSL, or Solid Stage Logic, is a vintage name. Back in 'the old days' you had several manufacturers making huge mixing consoles, and SSL is one of them. Perhaps the best known, although that's always personal preference depending on who you ask. It's not that the days of big consoles are entirely behind us, but a good number of studios no longer need such a huge behemoth. And what you then see is that such manufacturers start packaging the technology into small products that are a bit more consumer-oriented. This SSL 1 is a very nice example of that. Basically a seemingly simple 2-in/2-out audio interface, but in terms of mic pre-amp, it emulates the sound of the famous 4000-series mixing consoles. This series is so important in music history that it has been inducted into the TECnology Hall of Fame. And so this audio interface is quite a special story. The sound of the old 4000 console in an affordable interface, with a mic input and a line/hiZ input. So a nice one for the singer-songwriter who wants to record voice and guitar. As a bonus, it comes with a thumper of a software package, including the DAW Ableton Live Lite.
