In addition to Dante, ADAT and MADI support, the RME 12Mic-D offers no less than eight microphone inputs plus microphone/line combo ports for a total of twelve inputs. What's also practical - for drummers in particular - is that the gain can be controlled remotely, and RME wouldn't be RME if this professional microphone preamp wasn't fully focussed on maximum performance, flexibility and stability. That means the 12Mic-D is equipped with a redundant power supply as well as a built-in RJ45 port and other high-end features.

Quick Tweaks From Afar or Via the Front Panel Display

While the 12Mic-D has an ever-welcome front panel display where you can quickly change any levels or settings, the interface can also be controlled over your network via a web interface, where you can change gain groups, toggle phantom power, route the audio signals to headphones, and more. RME's flexible routing matrix offers a quick way to send both digital and analogue signals to where they need to go.

MADI & ADAT for Maximum Flexibility

Besides Dante, the Mic12-D has been outfitted with two independent coaxial MADI ports, but you also have the option to hook up an SFP module (not included) so you can use MADI in combination with an optical connection. Meanwhile, the three ADAT outputs can be used to upgrade the number of outputs to 24 for a massive 204 input channels which can be routed to each of the 218 outputs via the routing matrix. Hooked up to a Dante network, the Mic12-D is able to receive 64 channels which can then be sent to the headphone output, ADAT and the two MADI ports.
