Whilst it's quite an investment, it really is worth it.
This mic makes my vocals sound so good.
I have no regrets at all in buying this SM7 and especially this dB version with the built in preamp.
Fantastically easy to use and a very useable level of gain meaning it pairs very nicely with my Audient iD24 interface.

I did not really look at any other mics in this price range due to all the good reports I had read about this one.

Shure SM7dB Dynamic Studio Microphone with Built-in Preamp

I’ve been using a Sure MV7+ for podcasting which is a great mic, but the SM7dB is definitely a step up. It is more refined in the highs and lows and just adds that level of finesse to voice recordings that I was looking for. The built in preamp was an added bonus and I couldn’t be happier with the mic, build quality and ease of use. Highly recommended if you want to take your recordings to the next level. Great price, quick delivery and helpful service from Bax as ever.

I have three ordinary SM7B's and they all have preamps of one type or another, so when I needed one more, I thought I'd try this new version. As far as I can see and hear, it's the same familiar sound, so just very convenient to have it as one unit - to save the faffing with a cloudlifter. I'm very happy, and as the preamp is switchable - makes setup very easy!
