Ik heb recent een Shure SM7b in bezit gehad ter vervanging van een AT2035, gewoon omdat ik eens iets anders wilde proberen. Voor mij was dit een enorme deceptie. Het lijkt er op dat Shure sm7(d)B meer een hype is als een echt goede mic. Ik gebruik de mic puur voor FM broadcasting. Achter de mic staat een stukje hardware audio processing. Ik vond de sound enorm 'brommerig' veel overdreven laag en relatief weinig sprankelend hoog. Waarschijnlijk krijg je de sound wel oké als er direct een audio versterker achter wordt geplaatst, of voor podcasting opnames. Ik heb deze omgeruild voor een Sennheizer MK4. Wat een verschil maakt dat met de Shure. Audio volledig recht van 8 tot 20000hz. Via de voice processing (symetrix 528e) is het van laag tot hoog netjes in te regelen, wat bij de Shure niet ging. Ook het sprankelende hoog wat ik miste bij de Shure is helemaal aanwezig. Nadeel van Senheizer is wel de hoge prijs van de shockmount van bijna 100 euro maar dat is ondervangen door een 'niet Sennheizer ' type. Voorlopig ben ik de komende 5 jaar voorzien met een nette Sennheizer...
