Whether you're in a small bedroom, or you're on the road a lot, there's always a good reason to invest in a compact MIDI keyboard. The Arturia MicroLab MK3, for example, costs less than a tank of petrol, but offers a lot for that paltry bit of money. Two octaves of touch-sensitive mini keys, two touch strips for pitch bend and modulation, and two nice software packages. You can start producing right away with the DAW you get, and a package of Analog Lab sounds from Arturia. Of course, a really big keyboard is the nicer choice, but that's not much use if you're on the road with your laptop, and still want to play in a quick experiment. This is precisely why compact keyboards like this exist; they serve a purpose, and with Arturia it's always good quality!
