General

Loaded with 16 channels, the Mackie Onyx16 offers more than enough microphone and line connection options, while the mike inputs boast the professional performance of built-in Onyx preamps, so you get the full assurance of up to +60dB of clear and clean, noise-free gain. The Onyx16 even doubles as a multi-track USB audio interface for recording directly to a DAW, playing back up to four channels from a computer, or recording a simple stereo mix to an inserted SD card. This mixer has also been crammed with extensive effects for wetting up channels, recordings, or playback, while everything is controlled via the clear overview provided by the Studio Command panel.

The Mackie Onyx16: Streamlined Power

The tight control panel of this analogue mixer bears a classic Perkins equaliser-design that harks back to the British-built desks of the '60s and '70s and offers the unique perk of the same rich and warm, vintage sound. More current features include an improved filter control and minimal phase switching; a more effective semi-parametric mid-range frequency control; and a bank of built-in effects. An immediately coherent, clear-cut Studio Command section provides effect, preset, recording, and SD card or USB playback management alongside wireless Bluetooth streaming functionality.
