General

The adage is always that you do your mixing with studio monitors, set up in relation to the listener like a good triangle. But, mixing with headphones also has something in common. Go figure: you have no problems with the acoustics in your own studio. Headphones are also great for pin-pointing tiny details. And if you don't stoke much, over-ear headphones are at least good ear warmers! But yes: 'mixing has to be done with studio monitors'. Yet this is where the IK Multimedia ARC On-Ear is going to provide a solution.

Features of the IK Multimedia ARC On-Ear

You connect the ARC On-Ear to your sound source (such as a computer, audio interface), and your own headphones connect to the ARC On-Ear. The ARC On-Ear will now adjust the audio signal itself, stand-alone, so that it sounds good. No essential software is needed, so no extra burden on your computer. In terms of headphones, a good number of brands and models are supported. The major brands are supported, such as Sennheiser, Shure, AKG, OLLO, Beyerdynamic and many more. Could you choose another studio monitor with the same ease? Definitely! All in all, a very interesting product for those who have some preference for headphone mixing, or just for people who are 'on the move' with their laptops, and have no plans to take their studio monitors with them.
