In the world of post-production, there are several software titles available that are really meant for audio and video. Not many titles, it's a bit of a niche of course. It's simply about the tools you can use to edit films, commercials, etc. Not that making music with it would be completely impossible, but 'tis not the focus. Or rather, a 'smaller' DAW is more than enough for such producers. For years, Nuendo has been what Steinberg offers for the high-end product group. Meanwhile, Nuendo has already reached version 15. It is and remains a fantastic package for editing dialogues, foley and creative sound-design, and really just mixing music as well. And for these purposes Nuendo is also used in many high-end studios.
