General

Do you have a piano at home or on a stage and want to be able to record it reasonably neatly? This can be done in several ways; a computer with audio interface, a (portable) multitrack recorder, or a field recorder with XLR inputs. In all cases, you will need a set of microphones. For large ensembles, it suffices to place two microphones with a stereo bar on a single stand. With a piano, things are different. With a piano, you want to be able to place a microphone stand on the left and right with one microphone attached to each - after all, you still want to be able to sit down. with the 51% reduction I don't think anybody would complain about this microphone stand. In fact it is a very versatile and adequate stand and has no trouble holding a dynamic microphone

Wrote the following about Devine SHM-10-BK Shockmount for Pencil and Overhead Microphones

Excellent value and good performance for the price. Some bump noise still gets to the microphone if you knock the stand. Also the shockmount is 5/8th inch thread and does not come with an adapter so if your stand has 3/8th inch thread, you will need to buy an adapter.

Great little mics, excellent price & quality, I bought my set specifically for making a pocket-able portable wildlife & nature recording kit, that I could take virtually anywhere along with my Tascam recorder. While most people would agree that these are probably not the best mics for wildlife & nature recording, I found the sound quality to be superb & a very good compromise to carrying the full kit out on shorter trips. On longer field trips I still take more suitable equipment, but I am glad I bought these M5's for the portability & ease of use, now I can pull a small reliable kit out of my pocket & record virtually anywhere...

Brilliant things, such an amazing build and the clips are just perfect. Response is a little treble heavy. They pick up the room acoustics well but not too much, great for an open sound.

Absolute rubbish. Van Damme cable is just horrible. Also the shell/clips were not grounded when I explored their work. The copper in the cable was all oxidised as well.
