General

Sometimes you might just want to tweak the frequency spectrum of a line signal (say, a synth or a drum machine) a bit. In principle, you could do that with a multiband equaliser (the kind you see in PA rigs), but a product like the Erica Synths Resonant Filterbank is - in context of a synth - actually the better product for that. It is simply a more comprehensive product. There are ten analogue frequency bands/bandpass filters, for instance, complemented by twenty LFOs and twenty envelope-followers. A little synth nerd then immediately sees that there is no comparison with a PA EQ. It will most likely not be used for subtleties, but rather to add colour to rough sounds, and even play with them a little live. In short, call it a kind of external synth you can use with your synthesiser.
