General
This PR 77D from Heil Sound is the successor to the PR 77. Thanks to its full-range response and a focused, cardioid polar pattern, it is ideal for podcasts, broadcasting and other applications. Its vintage look also makes it perfect for use on stage. Incidentally, its design is inspired by the RCA microphones from the 1950s and 1960s. The cardioid polar pattern offers attenuation of no less than 40 dB at 180 degrees off-axis. The result is minimal interference from the surroundings. Furthermore, the PR 77D is fitted with two switches. For vocals, there is a ‘roll-off’ at 120 Hz of –6 dB per octave, whilst for music there is no filter and the entire audio spectrum between 60 Hz and 16 kHz is available. The microphone is fitted with a standard 5/8-inch thread and can therefore be mounted directly onto a boom pole or stand.
