General

The 87 is a microphone family that everyone, with some studio experience, knows. Pricey, but rock solid and highly popular. The Warm Audio WA-87jr is a considerably cheaper alternative, and still a fantastic studio microphone. But for those who need to watch their bank account even within this range, there is also this Warm Audio WA-87jr SE. Basically much the same product, but with things that aren't there! There is only a cardioid directional characteristic, but that will be enough for most. Also, the pad switch and highpass switch are omitted, and internally some of the components are different. If those are things you can do without, then this SE is a particularly attractively priced 87 alternative! Because let's not forget that 'tis just a very good microphone.
