General
The Heil PR 40 microphone boasts the widest frequency range of any dynamic mic in the Heil PR series, and can be used as a large-diaphragm microphone without any problems. It is specially designed to keep handling noise and any other unwanted hum and buzz to an absolute minimum. The diaphragm has a shock mount construction that it is detached from the body, fully eliminating handling noise like vibrations and resonance. In addition, the layered dual mesh screens provide superb response for the human voice across the entire vocal range, without those awful popping sounds.
Flat frequency response and extremely versatile
Furthermore, the PR 40 has a smooth, flat, neutral frequency response from 28 Hz to 18 kHz, which means that this mic can be used for vocals, drums and amps; especially toms, bass drums, guitar and bass guitar amps. Studio engineers often refer to the PR 40 as the thoroughbred work-horse of the large-diaphragm microphones, and this high-quality gem comes including a cast metal microphone holder and a leatherette carrying bag.
