The PR 22 UT is an exciting affordable option for those who'd like to get the PR22, but don't have a matching budget. To reduce the cost, Heil Sound has introduced an affordable no-frills version of their extremely popular PR 22. With the PR 22 UT you get exactly the same microphone as the award-winning PR 22, but without all the extra accessories. This means that the specs of the PR 22 and PR 22 UT are similar: a broad frequency range, high sound pressure level of more than 140 dB, and excellent rejection of unwanted (handling) noise of no fewer than -35 dB. In short, the PR 22 UT is a very impressive, high-quality dynamic microphone that is ideal for the recording of vocals in a professional setting.

Innovative design

The special magnet structure, in combination with a large aluminium 1-1/8-inch low-mass voice coil assembly, guarantees excellent performance, and the unique mounting system has been specially developed to keep unwanted handling noise interference to a minimum. Special attention has been paid to the phasing plug assembly, which means that any unwanted hum or buzz is out of phase, so that noise is rejected in a natural way.

Live applications

The PR 22 UT can handle extremely high sound pressure levels thanks to the special magnet structure that is insensitive to clipping. Combined with the tight cardioid directional pattern and exceptional low noise handling, the Heil Sound PR 22 UT is the perfect choice for live applications. Furthermore, the mic provides a beautifully smooth and balanced audio reproduction without having to use a conventional phantom power supply, or other external power supply. What's more, because of the innovative technology used, Heil Sound was finally able to replace the '70s ball-type diaphragm design.
